• Dr. Al-Mutawakel Taha: Born in Qalqiliya in Palestine – PhD in Arts.
• Arrested several times by the Israeli occupation forces.
• Elected President to the Palestinian Writers’ Union 1987-1995.
• Elected President to the Palestinian Higher Education Council 1992-1994.
• Deputy Minister of Information 1994-1998.
• Established, along with other Palestinian scholars, the “House of Poetry” – Palestine.
• Elected Secretary General to the General Union of Palestinian Writers and Scholars – 2005.
• President of the “Poets Without Borders” organization in Palestine.
• Deputy Minister of Information 2006.
• Attended hundreds of conferences and rallies.
• His works were widely published and translated to several languages in Palestine and abroad.
